What is Yoga ?
Yoga is a process of uniting the body, mind and soul. One needs to stretch through body, balance through mind and connect through soul. After doing all this the concentration level increases and results in Yoga.
It is not a mere physical exercise but a scientific window to open unlimited potentials of a human being. A person feel calm and fresh. He encounters his own hidden talents and thoughts.
The word is derived from Sanskrit, Yuj meaning Yoke. One can interpret it as unification.

Significance of Yoga
Yoga open up spiritually. One feel patient, cool, fresh and relaxed after doing it. It fixes health issues and helps in heart related problems. The body becomes flexible.
It helps in increasing flexibility and energy level. It increases muscle strength and keeps you fit. It doesn’t allow to gain weight. It keeps the blood circulation intact and fit. Breathing gets improved and it helps in protecting the individual from injuries.
Types of Yoga
Yoga consists of Asana (body postures) and Pranayama (breathing techniques). The postures in Sanskrit are further divided into actions – kriya, locks – bandha, seals – mudra.
Given below are the types of Yoga : –
• Ashtanga – six further types which must be in sequence.
• Vinyasa – linking body postures with breathing.
• Power – power yoga is more like Ashatnga Yoga with breathing techniques.
• Jnana – acquainting with education to liberate spiritually.
• Bhakti – worshipping with devotion in order to see God in every one.
• Karma – selfless actions without hope to receive nay reward.
• Raja – the highest path of Yoga.
• Bikram – improves flexibility of the body.
• Hatha – a system of physical postures.
• Kundalini – awakening of human being’s chakaras and connecting the body spiritually.
• Mantra – concentrating in Jaap or reciting mantras.
• Iyengar – straightening and alignment of body postures in detail.
• Anusara – heart opening postures.
• Shivananda – begin with Shavasana and then chanting and meditation follows.
